If you travel frequently, you may find yourself getting a little bored with the everyday hotel and hostel options. Instead, consider staying in one of the amazing and unusual places that Schofields have discovered, with many of them owned by celebrities- giving you a taste of luxury:
The Rubber House
Located in New York, the Rubber House was once owned by WIllem Defoe, and this is the place to choose if you need a creative retreat. You’ll find amazing views over the private woods and meadows, a chef’s kitchen made of vaulted glass, a studio, floor to ceiling windows, and a writer’s tower so you can get some serious work done, with room for 4 guests, each paying £586 per person for a week.
This beachfront villa was designed in a Japanese-style, and was once owned by Mick Jagger. Up to 10 people can stay in this amazing property, which features six pavilions, all connected together by different elevated walkways, and you’ll find a tennis court, hot tub, large outdoor pool, and, of course, amazing views of the Caribbean. Expect to pay £1,244 per person each week.
The Lucky House
Owned by Christy Brinkley and located in Parrot Cay, Turks, and Caicos, you’ll find an incredible 45-foot-long infinity pool, a beachside fire fit, and a decking area so you can work on your tan. Guests will be able to keep busy here, and you’ll find on-site activities and guest services, with three bedrooms sleeping six guests £4,544 per person per week.
You’ll find this incredible 16th century villa in the beautiful countryside in Florence Il Palagio, and it’s owned by both Sting and Trudie Styler. You’ll be sure to enjoy swimming in the pool and lake, playing tennis on the tennis court, and can even use the estate for corporate events and weddings, sleeping up to 50 guests with the surrounding estate and properties available for hire. Guests would pay a tiny £183 per week.
Owned by Richard Branson, and considered his ‘home away from home’, this is a once in a lifetime experience and the chance to really feel like a celebrity. The island is popular for many different celebrities, and you’ll find a huge range of activities, including simply lying on the beach in the British Virgin Islands. This may be the type of trip you take with your friends when you win the lottery, as it can sleep up to 30 people but you’d be looking at approximately £9,928 per person each week.
You’ll find this 66-foot yacht between the Hilton in Harbor Island and the Sheraton San Diego Hotel, and this is also a popular option for celebrities, with boy band One Direction once chartering the yacht. It’s fully equipped with a kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms, and can sleep up to 6 people for just £144 per week per person.
