Is your boss working you too hard lately? Looking for a way to get out and relax? Nothing calms a tired soul more than going for a long drive. It will be just you, the road, and the promise of a place with nothing but clear skies and fresh air. And when you’re in Sydney, you can pick out where you want to go.

Where to go in Sydney

The drive is only one part of the journey. The destination is your motivation; and in this part of Australia, you can take your pick on where you want to go. If you’re looking for some high spots to go in Sydney, here are a few suggested road trip destinations that you can enjoy alone or with your mates

Royal National Park. Driving can be tiring, as you always have to keep your eye on the road and stay alert for any dangers that can come your way. Driving out to Royal National Park will all be worth it, as you can take in its beautiful scenery where you can partake in various outdoor activities like hiking through its trails, cycling, and rowing. But if you’re not looking to do much and just want to relax, you can view some aboriginal art, and do some whale watching. And if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something different, the park has a nudist beach for you to come as you are.

Hunter Valley. Wine tastes the best after a long week. It tastes even better when you drive out to Hunter Valley for some great wine. Before you take a swig, check out The Endeavour Museum to learn a bit of history about Hunter Valley. After which, you can visit the Wollombi Tavern and try the infamous Dr Jurd’s Jungle Juice. If you’re visiting Hunter Valley, make sure you have a designated driver, or moderate your drinking to ensure that no accidents will be had on your way home.

Kangaroo Valley. If you’re looking for a simple day trip for you and your family to enjoy, then Kangaroo Valley is the place to go. Ride a kayak through the Kangaroo River and take in the breathtaking view of the Fitzroy Falls. Visit the Kangaroo Valley Pie Shop for some great pie you won’t find in the city.

Canberra. Australia’s capital used only to be known for a few things: adult films and terrible cafes. But recently, Canberra has seen a facelift, with new hotels, improved restaurants and cafes, and even museums. A day trip to the town of Canberra can open your eyes to some of its cultures.

Mermaid’s Pools, Tahmoor. For adrenaline junkies, nothing gets the blood going like jumping from rock to waters below. Mermaid’s Pool offers just that. According to jumpers, Jump Rock is nothing compared to Mermaid Pools. It’s just what you need to make you feel alive. Don’t feel like leaping? Then let your friends do that, and just sit by the banks and enjoy the tranquillity of the spot.

Living in the city is excellent as you’re always close to a service you need, and you never have to worry about being out of touch. But sometimes, getting away from the hustle and bustle, disconnecting from your associates and getting lost in nature is a must.

This reminds you that not everything is about that deadline or the next meeting with your boss. So, we recommend getting in your car and driving away to your favourite Sydney destination on your next day off.
